Visual Studio Principal Error

Server Principal is not able to access database errors

A couple of customers have had this issue when connecting to databases on our SQL 2008 server, the below procedure outlines the steps required to resolve this error message.

1) Start SQL Management Studio and connect to our server
2) Select Databases (you’ll likely receive the error regarding The server principal 'A' is not able to access the database 'B' under the current security context (Microsoft SQL Server, Error:916)
3) Press F7 to bring up the Object Explorer View options.
4) On the screen that appears right click on the Column Header and unselect ‘Collation’
5) Refresh (F5) your view of the databases.
